Kinglake Ranges Heritage Trail

After the Black Saturday bushfires tore through the town in 2009 there was discussion with members of the local township and the Murrindindi Shire Council about the importance of establishing a walking track dotted with local information via the use of interpretative signage.

Evergreen Civil were later engaged by Murrindindi Shire Council to construct the Kinglake Heritage Trail. The ‘Art History Walk’ along the central spine of the Kinglake Ranges starts at the corner of Whittlesea - Kinglake Rd and Whittlesea-Yea Rd and ends at Kinglake central.

The signage incorporates text, photographs, artist’s impressions, maps and general information to explain site significance. The project also included the development of a ‘major’ site at Memorial Reserve, Kinglake Central including new rock wall entry with signage mounted on timber posts and path works to link up existing walking track.
