Wallan Town Heart

Wallan is a rapidly expanding suburb to the north of Melbourne and the town centre was in need of improvement both aesthetically and for accessibility (pedestrian & vehicular). Following an extensive public tender process, Evergreen Civil were awarded the contract to improve the Wallan Town Heart with Mitchell Shire Council.

Works included, but were not limited to:

• Demolition and excavation work
• Stormwater Drainage
• Electrical authority relocation from overhead to underground
• Re-alignment of service lane entry & exit points
• Hard and soft landscaping upgrade to "Free Library" heritage building forecourt and war memorial
• Construction of feature timber pergola spaces and all associated bespoke timber & bluestone furniture
• Feature paving throughout the space combining bluestone & granite pavement as well as exposed aggregate concrete footpath pavement to trader areas
• Installation of new signalised pedestrian crossing for access either side of the busy Northern Hwy
• Design & construct two separate irrigation networks
• Associated soft landscaping
